When the welding power source is not in use, the built-in Low OCV Stick design lowers the open circuit voltage to 12-16 volts, avoiding add-on voltage reducers completely. After about an hour of breaking it in I ran it hard for 2 more hours. 6010, 6013, 7014 7018 all ran great. It even burned some very difficult 5/32" hardfacing rod very well. You don't need lots of adjustments and settings. It runs on it's own. The stick stuck feature is great for not fouling up the holder. The holder needs improvements. I had to file the grooves so the rod wouldn't wobble.

How to select weld process:
Process Selector Button.
Press Menu button until LED for desired process is illuminated.
Stick (SMAW).
When selected, Adaptive Hot Start, Stick Stuck, and DIG circuitry are energized.
Stick 6010 (SMAW).
When selected, Adaptive Hot Start, Stick Stuck, and DIG circuitry are energized. Parameters are optimized to run a 6010 Stick electrode.
