Tillman Backhand Pad with Aluminized Carbon #554

The Tillman 554 backhand pad has two elastic and leather straps on the bottom portion of it to help further protect the welder from heat, sparks, and/or spatter while welding. Coming with three layers to protect you the top layer of this pad is an aluminized carbon Kevlar (ACK) that is designed to reflect heat away from the wearers hands; while the middle layer is insulated with a ceramic wool material that is rated to insulate against temperatures of up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, and lastly the bottom most layer is an acrylic coated fiberglass. This fiberglass is the same material that many welding blankets and curtain are made of today in the much smaller convenient covering between you and the heat of welding.
