Manufacturer Reviews

By: Kyle
This machine was purchased to replace an old Deltaweld 451 in a large manufacturing shop. We were able to demo this unit first before the purchase was made and the demo machine was set up as a portable unit with the new Intellx Pro feeder head all on the Miller running gear. Our guys were super impressed with how stable the arc was and loved the built in gouge feature. Once we got our machine all installed and in place with the feeder mounted on a swing boom with 35 foot cables connecting it all together we had some difficulties. The machine was not performing the way the demo unit did. We had tried to just reuse the 2.0 cables that were running the old machine but were having trouble with too much spatter and unstable arc. After replacing the ground clamp and the cable with new 4.0 as well as the positive cable to a 4.0 it performs to what it should now. So the con to this machine is how sensitive it is to everything but on the flip side of that is how the machine can be dialed in to make perfect welds.
