Hypertherm's new SYNC cartridges are a great new addition to Hypertherm plasma cutters. The new consumables are an all-in-one system that can be easily screwed onto the torch, replacing the old 5 part consumable system. This cartridge is optimized for drag-cutting metal up to 20mm (3/4") thick.

Features:

  • Easy-to-identify single-piece cartridge consumables are color-coded by the process to eliminate confusion and simplify consumable inventory management.
  • RFID-enabled SmartSYNC™ torches and cartridges automatically set the correct amperage and operating mode, eliminating setup errors.
  • End-of-life consumable detection eliminates the uncertainty of knowing when to change the cartridge.

Q - What are SmartSYNC drag cut cartridges used for? A - 65A drag cut cartridges can be used with SmartSYNC torches drag cut metals up to 3/4" thick. Drag cutting involves dragging the tip along the work piece, making contact with the metal throughout the cut. Drag cutting is easier on the operator and produces less spatter.
Q - What torches are compatible with 65A drag cut consumable cartridges? A - Drag cut cartridges are compatible with all handheld SmartSYNC torches. Machine torches are compatible with gray mechanized consumables only.
Q - Which plasma cutters are compatible with 65A drag cut consumable cartridges? A - Hypertherm Powermax 65, 85 and 105 SYNC machines.
