Was looking to buy a plasma cutter for some time and finally decided on the Spectrum 875. This unit is probably larger than I'll ever need but when that one job comes along, I'll have the tool to get it done. This machine works very nice and easy to use. It makes short work on cutting any metal I've come across. When using a guide (Strait edge, etc...# this unit cuts very clean with little to no slag at all. When you get the hang of the speed of travel along with the right amount of power the cut is very, very clean. I now use the plasma cutter more than my metal band saw #both horizontal and vertical). Wish I would have purchased one years ago. Thanks for an outstanding piece of equipment.

Had it for a week. Tested it on a piece of 3/8" Mild steel versus my old (15 years old) Miller spectrum 375. This thing is a beast. It will pierce a hole right through 3/8 in an instant. Slices cleanly through it quickly too. The machine is super quiet and very compact. The fan doesn't activate until needed. My last Miller plasma gave me zero trouble for 15 years before I purchased this new one. I'm confident this unit will be just as reliable.

This plasma cutter does a great job of cutting all types of metals. This product saved me a lot of money that I didn't need to buy as many tanks of gas and oxygen for my torch. I especially like the long leads so I don't need to keep moving the machine if I'm cutting a large project. I owned my machine since february 2012 and it gets used quite a bit in my farm shop.

Great machine, not compleatly CNC ready.
I have had the machine for almost a year now and have used it on about a dozen projects. The biggest (most cuts) was a fabricated bumper for a pickup. The machine runs well, cuts great, and is altogether impressive. The drag shield does obstruct the view as mentioned, but I usually cut with a guide so I do not find it much of a hindrance. To this point I have done only hand cutting. I bought this machine for the cutting capacity and because it was CNC ready. I am in the process of building the CNC and just found that it does not have arc OK / OK to move signal. The auto line version does, and, had I know that, I would have ordered that instead. In my opinion if automation ready is stated it should have that output, were it not for that I would give it 5 stars. As a FYI the machine does not have a voltage divider, something I think should be more clear in the manual.

Torch cable & head
The torch head is very stiff and is molded in the side position to where you cannot hold it very steady down on the metal when trying to cut a piece with a circular or straight line template. When you are free handing a cut you want a limber cable and torch head. Don't get me wrong the power source is well recommended but the torch assembly has to go.My rating is low due to this part of the package. If it wasn't for this i would have kept the machine.Blue is the color of all our machines except our plasma machine. I hope Miller redesigns the torch assembly.

Very good all around plasma cutter
Im in the ninth grade and we have a metals class. Part of the course is to learn how a plasma cutter works and how to use it correctly. This was by far one of the easiest machines in our shop to work with. Before I knew how to operate it, I immediately knew what the controls were and what they did. When it comes to cutting performance I would recommend this machine over any other I have gotten to test. It cuts through 1/2 inch stock like butter and can cut mesh a lot safer nd faster than a grinder. Great machine.

Simple to set up and use.
This machine has awesome power for the size of the machine. Controls are easy to use and cutting is fast and easy. I have pushed the machine to its severance cut yet, but I am very impressed with what I have had opportunity to sue it for. I would definetely reccommend this product.
